I got in a lot of practice doing takeoffs and landings in some pretty fierce cross winds.
Look out for those props guys.  I   let   my hot stick fall into a 3 bladed prop and and got popped in the belly and forehead with flying pieces.  That little extra blubber around the belly helped out a little. ha ha! No  serious injuries to myself or my plane so still flying.  Don't take chances guys.  If your hot stick will not stay on the glow plug get a new one so what happened to me will not happen to you.  Safety first last and always.
Even after 15 years of flying models, full scale Cessnas and Pipers accidents still happen.
We flew Mike's new LT 40 Kadet and it flies great.
Owen got a good landing Sunday afternoon after the wind stopped blowing so hard.
Don't forget we are selecting a name for our airfield at our next meeting so think of something good that includes the word "Coffeyville" in it.
Also keep Phil Hooper and his family in your prayers as he needs them from us.
Hope you all get out and get to fly this month see ya there

I have always felt that our flying field should be the primary concern and represents us as a group.
Now under the leadership of President David Liming and our Field Maintenance Coordinator Bob Meritt the focus on our field really impresses me.

April Work Party
25-30 mph winds and chill factor under 40 degrees did not deter our dedicated work party.
David and Ray were the early birds and had mowing and clean up well underway by the time Troy, Jon and Larry joined the party.

Letter from the President
First I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all our new members.
I hope all of you got some flying in even though the wind did blow most of the month.
